Last week we were informed that two of our long-time customers, FLIR Systems, Inc. and Google, have been selected as finalists for the Treasury & Risk Alexander Hamilton Best Practices Awards. This awards program honors the best and brightest from treasury and finance departments of the nation’s largest and multinational corporations, so hats off to both companies on these significant achievements!
What is notable about this year’s awards announcement is that FLIR Systems, Inc. has been recognized in a newly-created category for middle-market companies called the “Editors’ Choice in Middle-Market Excellence.” This category was created due to the large amount of outstanding entries from companies with sales revenues of $2 billion or less.
While FLIR Systems, Inc. and Google are two very different companies in terms of size; it is exciting that they both can now share in this coveted recognition for their excellence and innovation in treasury management.
FX exposure management is proportionally as big of a challenge for small and large corporations. However, historically, the type of technology and best practices that FLIR Systems, Inc. uses have only been available to the biggest companies — as they have more people, larger budgets and can tolerate long implementations. A major founding principle of our vision when we started FiREapps several years ago was to make world-class FX programs attainable for companies of all sizes. Because of the deployment and cost advantages that can be derived from our true cloud-based solutions, the best-in-class people are now truly able to effectively implement best-in-class FX programs.
FiREapps is pleased to have been able to deliver on our vision to cost-effectively address the FX exposure management challenges for all companies of all sizes. The recognition of FLIR Systems, Inc.’s world-class program by Treasury & Risk is a perfect illustration of our vision becoming a reality. We are very proud of Randahl Finnessy, FLIR Systems, Inc.’s Vice President and Corporate Treasurer, and his ability to understand this opportunity for his company and lead his organization to excellence. The acknowledgement in this new middle-market category is further proof that the playing field has changed, and what was once an elite opportunity for the biggest players is now open to all.
We are proud of both companies’ achievements. By being able to work with strategic treasurers such as Randahl Finnessy and Brent Callinicos, Google’s VP and Treasurer, we’re continuing our commitment to bring more and richer capabilities to all of our customers, and we truly appreciate their years of commitment and support of FiREapps.
Winners of this year’s awards will be announced on Oct. 1 at the Alexander Hamilton Best Practices Summit & Awards event in New York, a one-day intensive educational and networking summit that draws top CFOs, treasurers, risk managers and other finance professionals from across the country. We wish both companies much luck!
